Hi, I’m Gavin Jenkins.

I’m a Class of 2029 first baseman and right-handed pitcher from Nova Scotia interested in pursuing a university degree in Kinesiology.

I’m looking forward to grade 10 and bringing up my GPA to above 3.0. I’m committed to year-round training, continuous improvement, and being a coachable, dependable, and respectful teammate. As a multi-sport athlete, I also compete in volleyball, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which have helped develop my strength, athleticism, and mental toughness.

When I’m not at school or training, I enjoy mentoring younger athletes, operating my own firewood business to help fund my baseball journey, and fishing with friends. I’m also passionate about supporting KidSport Nova Scotia because every kid deserves the opportunity to play sports.

COMMUNITY

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been around my family’s businesses.

I used to go with my parents to tree quotes, hand out business cards, and later help drag brush. Today, I run a small firewood business in East Hants and the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), where I split and deliver firewood to help pay for my sports. So, if you need firewood…I’m your guy!

Being active with my family in business and sports has taught me the importance of working hard and helping others. I started training in mixed martial arts when I was just 6 years old, and by age 9, I was helping with the younger classes. I really enjoy being someone the younger kids look up to.

This year, I continued giving back by volunteering with younger baseball players, filling in for a team when they were short players, and cheering on my friends at their games.
